چکیده

Five-dimensional stringy rotating black holes are embedded into N=2 supergravity interacting with one vector multiplet. The existence of an unbroken supersymmetry of the rotating solution is proved directly by solving the Killing spinor equations. The asymptotic enhancement of supersymmetry near the horizon in the presence of rotation is established via the calculation of the super-curvature. The area of the horizon of the rotating supersymmetric black holes is found to be √ Z3 fix − J2, where Zfix is the extremal value of the central charge in moduli space. ∗ E-mail: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] SLAC-PUB-9841 Work supported in part by Department of Energy Contract DE-AC03-76SF00515

Entropy function and attractors for AdS black holes

We apply Sen’s entropy formalism to the study of the near horizon geometry and the entropy of asymptotically AdS black holes in gauged supergravities. In particular, we consider non-supersymmetric electrically charged black holes with AdS2 × S horizons in U(1) and U(1) gauged supergravities in d = 4 and d = 5 dimensions, respectively. We study several cases including static/rotating, BPS and no...

New Attractors

We derive new algebraic attractor equations describing supersymmetric flux vacua of type IIB string theory. The first term in these equations, proportional to the gravitino mass (the central charge), is similar to the attractor equations for moduli fixed by the charges near the horizon of the supersymmetric black holes. The second term does not have a counterpart in the theory of black hole att...

Non-Supersymmetric Attractors in BI black holes

We study attractor mechanism in extremal black holes of Einstein-BornInfeld theories in four dimensions. We look for solutions which are regular near the horizon and show that they exist and enjoy the attractor behavior. The attractor point is determined by extremization of the effective potential at the horizon. This analysis includes the backreaction and supports the validity of non-supersymm...

Non-Supersymmetric Attractors in Symmetric Coset Spaces

The attractor mechanism for supersymmetric (BPS) black holes was discovered in 1995 [1]: at the horizon of a supersymmetric black hole, the moduli are completely determined by the charges of the black hole, independent of their asymptotic values. In 2005, Sen showed that all extremal black holes, both supersymmetric and non-supersymmetric (non-BPS), exhibit attractor behavior [2]: it is a resul...

Large rotating AdS black holes from fluid mechanics

We use the AdS/CFT correspondence to argue that large rotating black holes in global AdSD spaces are dual to stationary solutions of the relativistic NavierStokes equations on SD−2. Reading off the equation of state of this fluid from the thermodynamics of non-rotating black holes, we proceed to construct the nonlinear spinning solutions of fluid mechanics that are dual to rotating black holes....
